" The others" - Art paper

Fear of others. Fear of those who are

different from us, whether in origin,

religion, appearance, or thought. Often, out of fear, we don't welcome them but rather reject them without even trying to get to know them better.

'' Can you understand?'' - fiberart

An intimate fear that evokes death in a daily echo. In contrast, the title

of the work, Can You Understand?, echoes the quotation on the panel; it is the next sentence that, interlocutory, re-establishes

the connection with the other, the dialogue, after diving deep within. I have a great fear of dying without ever being truly seen. Can you understand?

Alessandro Botti

''Biostratificazione''  - mixed media

Overlays and stratifications intertwine in a universe far from

nightmares. It is essential to approach the painting to understand... and discover that

fear resides only within us.

'' Mayday'' - video

When it comes to migration and disembarkation, we often think only of men, forgetting the presence
of migrant women, often invisible, who face the terror of the sea, dreaming of a better future for their
children. However, the destination often remains an unrealized dream.

''Melting'' - video

With a background in modern dance, I use my body to
explore how to deal with the fear of one's own desire and rejection, what love is, and why we should be wary of it, but not always. In this way,
I've managed to overcome my
shyness.

''Pendent desire'' sculpture

Human fears all stem from the fear of the unknown, which shapes daily anxieties and the awareness of our fragility. To feel less exposed, humans construct utopias, seek meaning in the void, and attempt to give stability to what is naturally changing. By clinging to illusory certainties, they attempt to postpone an inevitable fate. Maturity comes when we accept reality for what it is: we unmask appearances and courageously embrace the flow of time.

''Indomitable spirit'' - art installation.

At its core, Indomitable Spirit is
an expression of the power of the human soul. It speaks to the ability to resist and overcome obstacles,
no matter how insurmountable they may seem. The presence of danger
and temptation reminds me of the constant threats to our equilibrium.
However, the main theme remains
triumph and perseverance.

''The Moons of march'' - art installation

The Moons of Mars is born from the primal instinct of survival, using
deep fear as a tool and
transforming despair and pain
into powerful symbols of resilience. Each piece, drawn and sewn, one line at a time weaves hope into a tapestry of fear. Witnessing how the process can transform even the deepest despair into a beacon of hope: it is a journey through fear, expressed through one's own words and creations.

''Ceasfire'' - art textile

Ceasefire emphasizes the forced blindness of contemporary humans and their fear of fear.
We build physical, emotional, and
mental armor, and to disguise it, we decorate it, creating the illusion that everything around us is normal and safe.

''Mutando pieles'' - photography

''Tell me who I am'' - photography

''Death landing'' - video

Through a horizontal pan, a Calabrian natural paradise is also explored in its infernal, mirrored counterpart of war and annihilation. In this dark mirror, having crossed the boundary between two gazes, we perceive the ambiguous boundary between human and nonhuman.

''Benedetta paura'' - fiber art

I can say that my panic attacks
were blessed and teachable, not because I finally obtained absolution from the priest, butbecause they taught me to
decipher the syntagms, the minimal signs to understand and predict
something, rationalize my emotional
states, and render harmless the delays and rigidities of my skull.

''Who doesn't have the Minotauro?'' - sculpture
The labyrinth presents worse difficulties than death, solitudes more fatal than a battle. The Minotaur is the beast to be
confronted, the lurking enemy,
represents the metaphor for the fears that may lurk within us, to conquer which a suggestion is almost hinted at here: one must descend into those labyrinths
that torments the soul, into that inner forest where it will be arduous to find one's way out.

''The Pro-missed land'' - picture

A tumultuous movement of bodies
engaged in the escape or search for a land that the title The Pro-missed Land, with the ambiguity of its words, keeps balanced between the dimensions of hope and abandonment; that disorientation
forces us to share it, observing from below the orange spots that outline the figures.

''L'insonnia'' - fiber art

Insomnia and fear often share a complex relationship. Fear and anxiety can significantly contribute to insomnia, making it difficult to relax enough to fall asleep. During times of war, when images of death, grieving mothers, and trembling children
invade our screens, the personal traumas I experienced during the Lebanese civil war suddenly resurface, depriving me of sleep and reminding me of my helplessness in the face of such terror.
